Idols in ASOP’s 2nd Weekly Elimination
Idols in ASOP’s 2nd Weekly Elimination
Two of the runners-up in Philippine Idol will take center stage once again to perform in ASOP Music Festival’s 2nd weekly elimination for this month.
Jan Nieto and Miguel Mendoza will interpret two songs, respectively, from two of the composers whose song entries passed the preliminary screening and will compete with the others tonight; “You’re My Messiah” by Ariel Villegas and “For Yours Is The Glory” by Romel Aguilar.
“Malaya Na”, written by Effraim Regine, and “Pupurihin Ka Hanggang Sa Kailanman”, by Annalyn Altejos, will also be interpreted by two equally talented artists – Cello Nunez and Nikki Valdez.
Ms. Bibeth Orteza, who has a myriad of God-given gifts like writing and directing, will appear in tonight’s show. She will be joined by Vehnee Saturno and Mon del Rosario in our panel of judges.
It will be an eventful night, as always, while the artists that we admire sing a different tune; one that gives praise and glory to God.
Stay tuned!

Continuing the Celebration with Songs of Praise in the Year 2012: First Weekly Elimination for January
Since ASOP Music Festival started on UNTV last year, we have always featured songs of praise that touched people's hearts, with God's help and guidance, and inspired song writers to use their God-given talents for His glory. In continuance to this common objective, this first ever national songwriting competition for praise songs has prepared four new compositions from four new composers for the first weekly elimination for this year.
Over the past 5 months, composers from different places in the country have passed their song entries and have taken their chance to win half a million pesos in the upcoming Grand Finals. No wonder that the songs that have passed for our weekly finals came from diverse parts of the region.
First composer on the list is Rodolfo Napoles from Bocaue, Bulacan with his song, "Sa Ngalan Mo Ama". Second composer is Normando Ravago from San Juan City with his piece, "Salamat Sa Pag-ibig Mo". Sherwin Bob Diaz is our third composer who is from Batangas City. He penned the song "Gabay" which will be performed by Sugarfree's former lead singer, Ebe Dancel. Anton Estrella Jr. currently resides in Pampanga City and he submitted the song entry, "A Symphony Of Praise".
Each song is also different from the other, but all exude love, respect, and gratitude to God Almighty.
On Sunday, January 8, we commence 2012 by presenting these songs which we hope will inspire all of us to make this year a better one with God's help.
To Him be all glory and praise!
